The Wilmington Drain is and can be a jewel in the crown of natural areas in Los Angeles. Did you know that we have rare birds, cranes, ducks, turtles and other wildlife as well as vegetation that cannot be found anywhere else in Los Angeles?
Unfortunately this area has not been protected and managed. Carelessness, greed and utter lack of respect for nature has turned the Wilmington Drain into a nightmare for those who live on or near it and for those who cherish the beauty of nature.
A group of homeowners and residents in Harbor City who have finally had enough and who are working hard with city, state and county officials to bring this area back to what it used to be and to keep it safe, clean and beautiful.
If you are a neighbor, we urge you to get involved. Nothing happens without the voice of tax payers and citizens being heard. Won't you add your voice to ours and help enhance the quality of life for those who live here?
If you are not a neighbor, we still need your help. Saving the Wilmington Drain is an issue of vital importance to anyone who cares about the beauty of nature and preserving what little there is left of it in Los Angeles.
We Need Your Help! Please visit us often, contact your local representatives, tell us your ideas and work with us to create a place that will be a joy for all Angelinos to visit and experience.
